IS THIS MEAL PLAN FAMILY-FRIENDLY?
Fresh Families was designed with families in mind, and is meant to act as a helping hand to get families cooking + eating more nutrient-rich, unprocessed foods. Every recipe has been adult and kid-tested and has been given a thumbs up by tasters of all ages!
Of course, we know each recipe won’t please everyone, so you can always modify a recipe to meet your own family’s needs :).
IS FRESH FAMILIES DESIGNED FOR MEN AND WOMEN?
The calorie breakdown is geared more towards the average woman, but men can certainly cook and enjoy the recipes, too. Each person will have to determine their specific calorie needs and adjust portion sizes and/or snacks accordingly.
WHAT ABOUT BREAKFAST AND LUNCH?
We provide several breakfast and lunch ideas during the Fresh Start that you can enjoy throughout the program. We have found that dinner is the biggest challenge, so that is our focus, but we will continue to share new seasonal recommendations and recipes for breakfast and lunch from our culinary team.
IS THE PLAN SUITABLE FOR VEGETARIANS? IF NOT, CAN IT BE EASILY MODIFIED?
Fresh Families is approximately 50% vegetarian, with vegetarian options for the remainder of the recipes. There is very little red meat included in the plan, but there is chicken and fish.
CAN THE PLAN BE EASILY MODIFIED FOR GLUTEN, NUT, DAIRY, AND EGG ALLERGIES?
We want the recipes to be enjoyed by as many people as possible. We’ve included notes on how to make every recipe gluten-free. We are happy to share personalized tips via email on how to modify for nut, dairy and egg allergies, when relevant, but it will take some extra work on your part to tweak the recipes to meet your specific needs. Our team is also available to answer your questions on the topic, so please send us an email.
DOES THE PLAN REFLECT ANY SPECIFIC DIET, SUCH AS PALEO, LOW CARB, LOW FAT, ETC.?
No. We don’t subscribe to any specific diet, we believe moderation is the key to a successful and sustainable eating plan.
WILL I LOSE WEIGHT ON THE MEAL PLAN?
We believe you can if you want to. We give you the tools to lose weight, including full delicious recipes for all your meals and calorie information for our suggested portions, but the actual portions and additional snacks that you choose to eat are up to you.
DO I HAVE TO FOLLOW THE RECIPE EXACTLY, OR CAN I SWITCH OUT AN INGREDIENT OR TWO?
You can always feel free to make the recipe your own, especially when it comes to spices. However, in order to stick to the provided nutritional information, you will want to avoid any major changes. If the dish is not your taste at all, you may also swap a recipe for another Fresh Families favorite.
WHAT IF I DON’T WANT TO LOSE WEIGHT?
You can enjoy the recipes and planned menus without worrying about portion sizes and extra snacks. The main goal is to eat healthy with little to no processed foods and added sugar.
